I filmed News & Letter as a Korean immigrant, who was unable to return home during summer break due to the pandemic. Through this video experiment, I captured the surreal moments we were experiencing, and revealed absurdities at the end of April. On the day of video shooting, I played BBC and CNN news about coronavirus and Kim Jong-un’s health issues while filming, and recorded it as a collage. The background news sound was getting louder and gradually eroding the entire scene. The letter in the video written by the female figure is in Korean, and the recipient is “Dear Mom and Dad.”  This video and audio collage is archiving the odd time of the COVID-19. Also, this film is whispering secretly only to the Korean American community in the way of news in English but the letter in Korean.
